Estes Park was evacuated later the same morning. Devastating wildfires to the north, west, and south of Estes Park has the town inundated with heavy smoke. This was sunrise at Lake Estes 10/22/2020. A few hours later that morning fire officials issued mandator evacuations for the Estes Valley due to rapidly approaching wildfire approaching from Rocky Mountain National Park on the west side of town.
